One of Hundred Stories from Merapi

"I don't know where to go. At that time my dad wasn't home and my sister couldn't drive the car yet. So, we were just praying and hoping for the best at that time."
That is how Rara (20) told us the story of herself and her family when the Merapi eruption happened.

She could hear the huge sound of the explosion when Merapi erupted from her house which is 25 kilometers from the peak of Merapi. It was happened in the middle of the night, on 5 November 2010, where everyone were in their deep sleep.
"This makes me so surprised. The government have already warned us to move to the safer place since last night, but I don't think it will happened. The last biggest eruption was in 1930 and it made Jogja dark. I don't even think that Jogja will be dark again."

Lots of prayer and a little help she gave to the victim. Her house which close to the one of the biggest shelter for Merapi victims made her feel to help them, although she also needed to clean her house because of the ashes rain.
